Job Description

You should

  • At minimum, hold an LLB degree from a recognised Institution;
  • Work experience in a law firm and in the Financial Services & Regulatory sector would be a plus;
  • Enjoy working a fast-paced environment;
  • Have proactive attitude;
  • Have a strong commitment to form part of a team and to grow professionally;
  • Be able to deliver high quality standard of work;

Responsibility

  • To work on investment transaction or regulatory advice under the supervision of senior lawyers, this includes without limitation to draft or review of legal documentation (includingcorporate/organizational documents);
  • Prepare legal opinions on commercial and regulatory matter;
  • To develop and nurture an interest in the area of practice through legal write-ups and other knowledge sharing initiatives of the firm;
  • To assist with administrative tasks relating to the clients matters (KYC checks, filings, billing etc);
  • To manage own time efficiently, delivering work on time according to requirements and show ability to juggle competing priorities;
  • Ability to deliver work according to the firm’s standards;
  • Speak effectively, in conversing and presenting with clarity in plain English and French;

Requirements

Legal Technical skills
  • Have a strong knowledge of commercial and corporate law (including but not limited to Companies Act and Code Civil);
  • Shows an understanding of commercial transactions and industry knowledge.
  • Shows a keen interest in securities law and regulatory framework.
